Shaoor-e-Farda title of the book by Asad, in Urdu language means Awareness of Tomorrow. The book has thirty-nine letters written by Maqbool Bhat to friends and relatives over a span of two decades. The first, dated May 22, 1960, from Peshawar to G. M. Mufti, a childhood friend of Maqbool Bhat. The Last letter in Shaoor-e-Farda, written two decades later, is to Dr. Farooq Haider, on September 8, 1983, from the death row in Tihar Jail, India.
From reading Shaoor-e-Farda, Maqbool Bhat comes across as a man with a clear vision. His three traits stand out. First, is his positive frame of mind. Second, his understanding and dedication to Kashmirs' emancipation struggle. And, third his firm religious faith.
